Despite what the title suggests, Wonderstruck represents a rare disappointment from master filmmaker Todd Haynes.
I had the pleasure of interviewing George Lepauw, the renowned concert pianist and Executive Director of CIMMfest, the Chicago International Movies and Music Festival. Lepauw told me that his festival aims to illuminate the relationship between music and movies, as well as encourage filmmakers to deepen their knowledge of music. This exciting festival consists of live performances, premiere screenings, silent classics and great composers. Though it has previously taken place around the same time as Ebertfest, this year the festival is moving from April to November.
The festival will run from Thursday, November 9th, through Sunday, November 12th, and is accepting film and music submissions until Friday, September 1st. Check out the video below for our full conversation, and for more information, visit the official site of CIMMfest.
